Tension prevailed in Dharwad’s Mehboob Nagar after a group of miscreants allegedly went on a rampage late at night, pelting stones at a house and setting two parked bikes on fire. The incident created panic among residents and caused significant property damage, with losses estimated to be in lakhs of rupees.

Attack on House and Vehicles

The incident occurred in front of the residence of Sadik Sherewad, where two bikes were parked outside. According to reports, the miscreants first pelted stones at the house, creating fear among occupants, and then set the bikes on fire. Both vehicles were completely gutted.

It is suspected that a group of seven to eight individuals carried out the attack in the middle of the night before fleeing the scene.

Police Begin Investigation

Senior police officials, including ACP Siddanagowdar and Inspector Prabhu Gangenahalli, visited the spot to assess the situation. Police have registered a case and are scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the culprits.

A manhunt has been launched to trace those involved. The motive behind the attack is yet to be ascertained and is expected to become clearer as the investigation progresses. The case has been registered at the Dharwad Suburban Police Station.
