Ballari clerk arrested for forging letters to frame senior officer

Synopsis

A Ballari clerk in Karnataka was arrested for allegedly forging letters to frame a senior officer after his suspension. The accused misused a Tahsildar’s identity to send false complaints to top leaders. Police are probing the case and possible involvement of others.

A government clerk in Ballari has landed in serious trouble after an alleged revenge plot against his senior officer backfired. The Second Division Clerk, Gangadhar, has been taken into police custody for attempting to frame Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohammed Zubair using forged documents. The case has raised concerns within administrative circles, as it involves the misuse of official identity and false allegations against a senior officer. Police have launched a detailed investigation to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy.

Suspension Triggers Personal Grudge

The incident reportedly began after Gangadhar was suspended from his position. Additional Deputy Commissioner Zubair had submitted a report accusing him of illegally collecting money from the public. Acting on this report, the District Commissioner ordered Gangadhar’s suspension. Upset by the action, Gangadhar is said to have developed a personal grudge against Zubair and decided to seek revenge.

Fake Letters Sent to Top Leaders

In an attempt to settle scores, Gangadhar allegedly drafted fake letters in the name of a female Tahsildar in Ballari. He forged her signature and sent the letters to the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and the Leader of the Opposition. The letters falsely accused ADC Zubair of physically and mentally harassing the Tahsildar in an attempt to damage his reputation.

Tahsildar Files Complaint

The forged letters eventually reached the District Commissioner’s office. When the Tahsildar saw them, she was shocked to find her name and identity being misused. She immediately approached the police and filed a complaint. The APMC police registered a case and launched an investigation, which quickly exposed Gangadhar’s alleged involvement. He was subsequently taken into custody for questioning.

Role of Another Officer Under Probe

Police suspect that Gangadhar may not have acted alone. Initial findings indicate that a former Assistant Commissioner who previously served in Ballari might have assisted him in executing the plan. Authorities are now examining the possible involvement of this officer and gathering further evidence.

Case Raises Concerns in Administrative Circles

This incident of forgery and misuse of an officer’s identity for personal revenge has become a major talking point in government circles. It has raised concerns about internal accountability and the misuse of official channels. Police continue to investigate the case from all angles, and more details are expected to emerge in the coming days.
