A deeply disturbing incident has been reported from Bengaluru, where a mother allegedly killed her teenage daughter before taking her own life. The tragic event, which took place under the Whitefield police station limits, has left the Immadihalli area in shock. The exact motive behind the incident is still unclear, and police have launched a detailed investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the tragedy.
The incident occurred in Immadihalli, near Whitefield. The deceased have been identified as 40-year-old Suvarna and her 14-year-old daughter, Karunya. According to preliminary reports, Suvarna allegedly strangled her daughter before hanging herself from a ceiling fan in the same room.
The incident came to light after neighbours and family members grew concerned when there was no response from the house for an extended period. When repeated attempts to contact the family failed, they informed the police.
Whitefield police arrived at the scene and forced open the locked door. Inside, they found the body of the daughter lying on the bed, while the mother was found hanging.
The exact reason behind the incident remains unknown at this stage. Police suspect that domestic disputes, financial difficulties, or mental stress could have contributed to the tragedy. The incident has left the local community deeply disturbed, particularly due to the death of a 14-year-old girl.
Senior officers from the Whitefield division, along with local police, visited the spot immediately after receiving information. The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team also examined the scene and collected evidence.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered at the Whitefield police station, and investigators are recording statements from family members. Police are also checking whether any suicide note was left behind.
