ISL 2020-21: Igor Angulo's brace helps FC Goa edge past Jamshedpur FC

This was FC Goa's third win of the 2020-21 Indian Super League, along with two draws and three loses, as it rises to the fifth place. Meanwhile, Jamshedpur FC suffered its second loss of the season, as along with two wins and four draws, it drops to sixth.


The ongoing edition of the Indian Super League (ISL) saw another thriller, as FC Goa edged past Jamshedpur FC during their clash at the Tilak Maidan in Goa on Wednesday. Igor Angulo's brace helped Goa rise to fifth, while Jamshedpur dropped a place, to sixth.

The opening half was off to a moderate start, with three attacks in the first 28 minutes. Four minutes later, Jamshedpur's Stephen Eze put his side ahead with his right-footed strike to the bottom-left corner, from six yards outside the left flank, following an assist from Aitor Monroy that came through a free-kick.

It was followed by an attack each but to no avail. Nonetheless, Jamshedpur went into the half-time break with the much-needed and well-deserved lead.

The second half was off to an intense start, with six attacks until the 58th minute. It also saw three attempts being saved, while a couple of them happened to be for Jamsehpur, who was desperate to extend its lead.

In the 62nd minute, Jamshedpur's Alex conceded a foul over James Donachie, while Angulo tapped it on from the spot to the bottom-left corner through his left foot. Six more attacks ensured thereon, until the 93rd minute, including a save for Goa.

Nonetheless, the very next minute saw Angulo scoring the winner, off an Edu Bedia corner cross, as the former headed it into the centre from six yards on the right. No further attacks ensured as the referee blew the full-time whistle, two minutes later, with Goa walking away with the three points.
