ATK Mohun Bagan continues to stay at the second spot of the 2020-21 Indian Super League table, while Bengaluru remains at the sixth spot. As Bengaluru FC is a former champion, ATK Mohun Bagan is making its debut, with ATK being the defending champion.

ATK Mohun Bagan came up with a sensational performance to tame former champion, Bengaluru FC, in the Indian Super League 2020-21, at the Fatorda Stadium in Bengaluru, on Tuesday. The win has allowed ATKMB to stay on the second spot, while Bengaluru struggles at sixth.

It all began in the first half when Roy Krishna gave ATKMB the opening lead in the 37th minute, through a penalty, while Marcelinho doubled it in the 44th minute. There were no further goals scored in the second half, as ATKMB secured the three points.

Following the game, ATKMB boss, Antonio Lopez Habas hailed his boys for a strong performance. "We played a solid match. We have a good feeling for the rest of the matches. We are improving every day and we have an opportunity to improve. It was a, maybe, complete performance. We have to think only about the next match, not thinking about the future," he said, reports Sportstar.

Meanwhile, Bengaluru head coach, Naushad Moosa rued that the opening penalty led to the side losing impulse. "The way we started the game, we were really doing well till the water break. Then that penalty happened and the players lost the motivation and then you can see the frustrations, giving unnecessary fouls. We could have controlled that," he said, reports goal.com.

"It (play-offs) all depends on the other games. The only thing is we have to be positive and play good football in the rest of the games. We have a week's break now. We are playing close games. So, we need to get good rest and think about the Mumbai City game. Rahul's (Bheke) injury, I guess it is serious and we have to sit and think about it," he concluded.
