SC East Bengal has roped in Croatian defender Franjo Prce. He previously played for Slaven Belupo while he had begun his career with Lazio.
Indian football giant SC East Bengal has been on a roll, as it has roped in its newest signing in the form of Croatian defender Franjo Prce. He has become the club's third overseas player, alongside Amir Dervi Evic and Tomislav Mrcela.
Prce previously played for Serbian club Slaven Belupo, where he played 21 games. The 25-year-old centre-back had begun his senior career with Italian giant Lazio but could only make an appearance across three seasons before being loaned to Salernitana, Brescia and Istar 1961.
He later also moved to Omonia and Varaždin for a season before his breakthrough season at Belupo. He has also scored three goals in his 76 appearances. While he has represented Croatia in the U-16 to U-21 sides, he is yet to make his senior national debut.

"I have played with some of the big names in world football, and it has helped me grow on and off the field. I think I can use my experience here in the ISL and try to help my team do well. I am eagerly waiting to experience India, and I also know this club has a massive fan base. It's a shame that they can't be with us in the stands, but we will play for them. We always play for the fans," he told SCEB upon signing.
Prce had an educative stint in Lazio, sharing the dressing room with legendary players like German striker Miroslav Klose and Italian strike Ciro Immobile. Also, he had interactions with defender Stefan de Vrij, along with Antonio Candreva and Lucas Biglia. He will likely feature in the side's first game against Jamshedpur FC of the 2021-22 Indian Super League at Tilak Maidan in Goa on November 21.
