Woman booked under POCSO for raping a minor boy

Synopsis

The Delhi police arrested a 26-year-old woman on Monday under the Protection of Children against Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) for raping a minor boy. This is for the first time that a woman has been arrested under the POCSO Act.

 

According to the police, she had called them herself to a hotel in Vasant Kunj and initially claimed that the 17-year-old boy whom she met on Facebook raped her. Followed by which the boy was booked for assaulting her.

 

However, after interrogating the boy, he revealed that she had approached him on Facebook and lured him to meet her in a hotel room even after he told her that he is a minor.Interactions on Facebook between the two confirmed the boy’s claim, and the woman was arrested subsequently.

 

According to The Telegraph, a police officer said: "We were also shown the hotel room bill, which proved the woman paid for the room.”
