According to the State Health Bulletin on Sunday (November 22), 49 people died in a single day in the state. However, the state's COVID-19 death toll rose to 8,025.

As many as 3,726 more people were cured of the disease, taking the state's recovery count to 4,23,129, the bulletin said.
However, Kolkata reported the highest number of new cases at 879, followed by North 24 Parganas.

Kolkata registered the highest number of fresh fatalities at 15, followed by North 24 Parganas (12) and South 24 Parganas (4), and Howrah (4).

According to the State Health Bulletin, West Bengal now has 25,207 active COVID-19 cases.

The state has so far tested 55.2 lakh samples for COVID-19, including 44,653 in the last 24 hours.

However, the recovery rate among coronavirus patients in the state stands at 92.72 percent.
