West Bengal: Fire breaks out in moving bus

Synopsis

A fire broke out in a moving bus on Friday (November 27) morning at Keshtopur. Several bus passengers were severely injured while rushing to get off the bus. Upon receiving the news, two fire engines came to the spot. However, the entire bus caught fire before the fire brigade arrived. No causalities have been reported yet. The fire brigade and Baguiati police are investigating the incident.

Kolkata: A moving bus suddenly caught fire in Keshtopur. Several bus passengers were severely injured while rushing to get off the bus. According to sources, the bus hit a bike at 7 am on Friday (November 27). As soon as the clash took place, a fire broke out in the bus.

On Friday morning, a bus on the Goriya route from Dunkuni caught fire in Keshtopur. Witnesses claim that the bus caught fire due to a short circuit in Ultodanga-bound lane. The bus burnt into ashes within half an hour.

Upon receiving the news, two fire engines came to the spot. Baguiati traffic police and Baguiati police were informed about the incident. 

However, the entire bus caught fire before the fire brigade arrived. The locals tried to extinguish the fire by fetching water from the local area. The fire brigade and Baguiati police are investigating the incident. However, no casualities have been reported yet.

According to the residents of Shatarupa Palli on VIP Road, a bike was speeding towards Kolkata from the airport. The accident happened when the bike got stuck in the front wheel of the bus. The passengers who were injured in the accident were taken to a private nursing home in critical condition.
