
Vadodara: At least 11 people lost their lives and 17 sustained injuries after two trucks collided with each other in Vadodara of Gujarat. The mishap occurred at Waghodia Crossing Highway in the wee hours on Wednesday.
9 of 11 people who have succumbed included 5 women, 3 men and a child. The Vadodara Collector and SP took stock of the situation at the accident spot.
According to reports, the victims were going to Pavagadh from Surat when the accident took place. The injured have been taken to SSG Hospital in Vadodara for immediate medical relief.
Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Wednesday expressed grief over the loss of lives in a collision between two trucks at the Waghodia Crossing Highway in Vadodara.
"Saddened by the loss of lives due to a road accident near Vadodara. Instructed officials to do needful. May those who have been injured recover at the earliest. I pray for the departed souls. Om Shanti," Rupani tweeted.
The Chief Minister has also instructed officials to provide immediate help to the victims.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed grief and issued a statement.
