Aftrer 90 days, Uttarakhand forest fire under control

Large swathes of forested land have been on fire for the last 90 days in Uttarakhand. "As per the latest information, the fire has been contained. The situation is under control now," Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju told reporters here.
    

The Minister said a team of experts has already reached Uttarakhand to ascertain the cause of fire and extent of the damage.

Rijiju said, if required, the central government will send more forces to the hill state to assist the state government in dousing the fires.
       

A four-member Central team of experts, including Special Director Centre for Fire Explosives K C Wadha and director of Delhi Fire Services G C Misra have reached Uttarakhand to assess the situation and suggest possible remedies.
