A woman in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda reportedly spent years secretly saving money without informing her husband, hoping to use the amount to buy gold jewellery. After setting aside small sums since 2019, her savings eventually grew to nearly ₹12 lakh. However, when she finally opened the trunk where she had stored the cash, she was left devastated after discovering that rats had gnawed and badly damaged a large portion of the notes.

Woman Saves ₹12 Lakh Over Eight Years

According to reports, the woman had been setting aside small amounts of money since around 2019. She reportedly kept the cash in a trunk at home without telling her husband about the savings.

Over the years, the amount accumulated to nearly ₹12 lakh. She reportedly planned to use the money to purchase gold jewellery in the future.

Rats Gnaw Cash Kept Inside Trunk

The woman's plans took an unexpected turn when she eventually opened the trunk to access her savings.
