Union minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Steel Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday tested positive for coronavirus  


Gurugram: Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan tested positive for coronavirus. He is presently admitted to the Medanta Hospital in Haryana's Gurugram.

According to reports, it is the same hospital where Union home minister Amit Shah is being admitted for coronavirus treatment.

Other BJP leaders including Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa, UP BJP chief have tested positive for coronavirus.

With India reporting 52,050 cases and 803 deaths in the last 24 hours, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country rose to 18,55,745 while the toll also soared to 38,938  on Tuesday, according to the latest data by the health ministry.

Of the total, the active cases stand at 5,86,298, while 12,30,509 people have recovered. This is the sixth consecutive day that COVID-19 cases have increased by more than 50,000.
