Unable to bear physical abuse, parents burn ‘drunkard’ son alive

Fed up with their son's harassment for money, K Prabhakar and Vimala tied up K Mahesh Chandra, poured petrol and set him afire.  

Warangal: A couple burnt alive their drunkard son on Tuesday (November 13) in Telangana's Warangal. The parents committed the crime as they were unable to bear his alcoholism and physical abuse they allegedly had to endure. 

K Prabhakar and Vimala tied up their 42-year-old son K Mahesh Chandra, poured petrol and set him on fire. The incident occurred at Musthayalapalli village in Warangal rural district.

According to police, Mahesh was an alcoholic. Unable to bear harassment, his wife had left him two months ago and stayed in her parents' house. Since then, he had started harassing his parents for money. According to sources, he would beat his parents in front of villagers too.

Mahesh, who worked as a clerk in Warangal Agriculture Market, died on the spot after he was set on fire. Police officers from Damera rushed to the village and shifted the body to conduct an autopsy. They registered a case and arrested Mahesh's parents.
