Highlights

On Monday, while leading a protest in Jalandhar, Rahul Gandhi blamed the Shiromani Akali Dal-led state government for the prevailing drug menace in Punjab. He said, “the government here encourages the drug trade because it benefits them.”

Attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Congress leader further said “Modiji speaks of ease of doing business. The only business which is easy to do in Punjab is that of drugs." He also blamed the BJP government for banning the film Udta Punjab and claimed that they don’t want to admit the truth, and that’s why they are insisting on the ban.

He further quoted Captain Amarinder Singh and said “Amarinderji stated that if Congress comes to power, drug problem will be curbed in a month because we intend to give more powers to police,”

After which Twitter users couldn’t stop trolling the Congress leader and mocked him left, right and center
