Synopsis

The tea stall, Monu, owner enables his customers to pay him via Paytm. He has been accepting online payments for as little as ₹7. Customers have been surprised and delighted by this move of Monu.

With long queues at ATMs, shortage of cash at banks and a cap on withdrawal, people across the nation have been helpless and frustrated.

Small businesses who have a handful of regular clients have joint hands with the online payment method, during these tough 'cashless' times.

 

 

 

 

However, in places like Kashmir where online transactions are difficult, the traders are being forced to sell the commodities far less than the retail price.

 

But where there are ways, the businesses - both on a large scale and small letting their customers pay via cashless channels. The small scale businesses include as small as roadside's tea stalls.

 

ANI reported of one such instance, where Monu, a tea-stall owner in New Delhi's RK Puram, has been accepting online payments from those who are strapped for cash.

 

 

 

 

Speaking to ANI, Monu said the decision to accept payments for as little as ₹7 was his way of helping people and extending his support for the government's decision to fight the menace of black money.

 

"I have recently started using Paytm because there is the crunch of change. This step helps my customers as they can easily pay through Paytm and sip their tea without any worries. Ever since I have started this service, my Paytm customers are increasing," he added.
