
The fourteenth assembly of Puducherry has been convened to meet on June 9 when the newly elected members will be administered the oath of office.
V P Siva Kolundhu, a first time member of ruling Congress who would be inducted as pro tem Speaker tomorrow by Lt Governor Kiran Bedi, would administer the oath of office to the members at 9.30 AM on June 9, Secretary to the Assembly S Mohandas told PTI.
The assembly polls in Puducherry was held on March 16.
A Congress government, headed by senior party leader and former union Minister V Narayanasamy was installed in office on June 6.
Congress has a strength of 15 members and its ally DMK two in the 30-member Assembly.
On the Opposition side, AINRC has eight members, followed by AIADMK (four) and Independent (one).
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Narayanasamy chaired a cabinet meeting today to review the government's fiscal position.
He later told media that a detailed review of the financial position of various public sector undertakings was also done.
Narayanasamy said he would soon meet the Union Finance Minister and Home Minister to seek clearance of funds due from the Centre for various schemes.
