
In what must be a first, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj shared news about her own health via Twitter, informing all concerned about her serious condition.
In her tweet, she stated -
"Friends : This is to update you on my health. I am in AIIMS because of kidney failure. Presently, I am on dialysis. I am undergoing tests for a Kidney transplant. Lord Krishna will bless."
The 64-year-old was admitted to AIIMS on November 7 and is being monitored by a team of doctors.
Swaraj is admitted at the cardio-neuro centre under the supervision of Balram Airan, Chief of the Cardio Thoracic Centre.
She has been suffering from diabetes for almost 20 years.
"Her condition is stable. Her history of chronic diabetes has affected her kidney functioning. She is on maintenance dialysis," sources at AIIMS confirmed.
