
Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has announced one-day mourning on Thursday as a mark of respect to Minister for State for Railways Suresh Angadi who died in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The Government Order said there will be no entertainment programmes and the tricolour will fly half-mast on all government buildings in the state.
The four-time Lok Sabha member from Belagavi, Suresh Angadi passed away in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi on Wednesday night due to COVID-19.
Suresh Angadi was admitted to the AIIMS on September 11 and was reportedly asymptomatic initially.

However, his condition deteriorated later, and he succumbed in the hospital leaving the entire state in shock.
Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, Former Prime Minister Deve Gowda, Medical Education Minister of Karnataka Dr K Sudhakar, Union Ministers Pralhad Joshi, DV Sadananda Gowda, Deputy Chief Ministers Laxman Savadi, Govind Karjol, CN Ashwath Narayan and Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai, MPs Shobha Karandlaje and Nalin Kumar Kateel, paid condolences to the Suresh Angadi.
