Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat is all set to woo international crowds and spread to the Sangh message beyond Indian territory. This trip of RSS leaders would be a major outreach in the West, according to a report.

The RSS head is going to the UK to attend the golden jubilee celebrations of the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS) on 31 July, according to a report. RSS all-India joint secretary Dattatreya Hosabale will also join the RSS leader.

Bhawat’s itinerary includes addressing an inter-religious dialogue, a visit to Ambedkar House and an address to a gathering of NRIs.

Bhagwat will be the chief guest of the three-day event to mark 50 years of the HSS. The event is planned by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Maharishi Mahesh Yogi organisation.

The organisers are planning to rope-in Virgin Airways owner Sir Richard Branson and English broadcaster Sir David Attenborough. But in a move that may raise many eyebrows, the Hindu right wing organisation is seeking the presence of Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio at the event, to lend support to the cause of vegetarianism.

DiCaprio might be inclined to lend support to the RSS’ pet cause, since he is a vegan himself.
