An Indian woman living in the UK, Manju Shekhawat Parmar, shared a video detailing how she paid £92 (around ₹12,000) for a roof drain cleaning that took only 20 minutes. Her post went viral, sparking a conversation online about the significant difference in service costs between the UK and India.

An Indian woman living in the UK has sparked a conversation online after revealing how much she paid to have the rainwater drain along the edge of her roof cleaned. The length of time the worker allegedly spent finishing the task was what drew viewers' attention in addition to the bill. Manju Shekhawat Parmar posted a video of the cleaning procedure on Instagram and contrasted the price with what a comparable solution may normally cost in India.

In the video, Parmar said, "In England, how much money did we pay to clean the drain at the edge of our roof that drains rainwater? 92 pounds, which is about 12,000 rupees. Now look, this man climbed up using a ladder and started cleaning this drain attached to the edge of the roof. Inside, lots of dry leaves and dirt had accumulated."

She clarified that after gathering the dirt and leaves in a bucket, the employee showed her the amount of material that had been cleared."Look, this much garbage has come out," he stated after gathering all the trash in his bucket and showing it to me. "After that, he went to the other side and cleaned there as well. Then he said bye to me, took his ladder and all his tools, and left," she added.

"But bro, the real thing is that it took him only 20 minutes to do this job, and he charged 92 pounds and left. Meaning in 20 minutes, 92 pounds, which is around 12,000 rupees," she said.

She asked viewers to compare the cost with comparable services back home as she wrapped up the video. "Now you tell, in India, where you live, how much money does it cost to clean such roof drains?"
