Siwan strongman and former Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Mohammad Shahabuddin free from Bhagalpur central jail on Saturday after the Patna high court granted him bail in the Rajiv Roshan murder case.
In 2004, he was found guilty of kidnapping brothers Girish Raj and Satish Raj and killing them brutally by giving them an 'acid bath.'
Later the prime witness, Rajiv, who was the brother of Girish and Satish, was murdered in Siwan on June 16, 2014, when the MP was in jail. The police had accused Shahabuddin's son Osama of killing Rajiv, while the jailed former MP was later made accused in the case as a conspirator.

On Wednesday, the court granted bail to Shahabuddin in the Rajiv murder case. The former lawmaker has already made bail in the case related to the murder of brothers, Girish Raj and Satish Raj.
"Everyone knows I was framed. It was the court which jailed me. Now the court has released me. No one should take Sushil Modi seriously. This has got nothing to do with politics, judicial has its own procedures," Shahabuddin told the press, ANI reported.
The former MP has been in prison since November 2005 after he was nabbed from his home in New Delhi by a joint team of Siwan Police and Delhi Police.
On Friday, Sushil Modi, who is the leader of Opposition in the state Legislative Council alleged that the Bihar government paved the way for the release of RJD strongman in a systematic manner .
"The state government in a systematic manner paved the way for the release of Mohammad Shahabuddin, who is part of the RJD top policy-making body, from jail," senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi said in a statement, PTI reported.
