
Pune: A 28-year-old woman from Pune with a travel history to France and Netherlands has tested positive for COVID-19, a senior official said on Wednesday.
With this, the number of COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra has gone up to 42.
Confirming the case, district collector, Naval Kishore Ram said, "The woman returned to India on March 15. She was admitted to the hospital in Pune on March 17.”
India’s first confirmed coronavirus-linked death was reported when a 76-year-old man from Karnataka’s Kalaburagi tested positive for the deadly virus. The second death was reported when a 68-year-old woman from Janakpuri, Delhi, admitted to Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital, succumbed to the virus. She was the mother of a confirmed patient of Covid-19.
Maharashtra’s first death and India's third due to Covid-19 was witnesses yesterday when a man over 60 years of age died due to the deadly virus. This came at a time when the state was moving towards a partial shutdown in an effort to fortify its defences.
