
Bengaluru: With an effort to rebuild the Congress in the state, newly appointed Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president DK Shivakumar has drawn a plan to meet Congress leaders district wise and strengthen the party from the grassroots level.
As a part of this process, Shivakumar met former ministers M Krishnappa and Ramalinga Reddy at their respective residences.
Two days ago, Shivakumar met former housing minister M Krishnappa at his residence at Vijayanagar, Bengaluru. The leader also met Krishnappa’s son Priya Krishna, a two-time MLA from Govinadraj Nagar Assembly. The leaders discussed ways to strengthen the party.
On Tuesday, Shivakumar reached the residence of former minister Ramalinga Reddy at Wilson Garden, Bengaluru. Shivakumar was greeted by both Ramalinga Reddy and his daughter, MLA Sowmya Reddy.
It is said that Shivakumar along with Satish Jarkiholi, Eshwar Khandre and Saleem Ahmad, are keen on making Congress a cadre-based party and are focusing on bringing back leaders, who left the party.
The Congress president had earlier met former ministers MB Patil, G Parameshwara and KJ George at their residences to take them into confidence.
On Sunday, Shivakumar had met former Rajya Sabha MP and former Rajya Sabha deputy chairman K Rehman Khan and former Union ministers KH Muniyappa and Veerappa Moily. He sought their cooperation in steering the party forward in the next election.
Immediately after taking charge as KPCC president, Shivakumar met former minister Mallikarjun Kharge and former CM Siddaramaiah to seek the blessings.
