Pulwama: Policeman killed, another injured in attack on security forces

Synopsis

A J-K Policeman was killed, and another injured after militants attacked security forces in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday afternoon.

Pulwama: South Kashmir’s Pulwama saw one policeman killed and another injured in an attack on security forces. According to reports, the attack occurred at Pulwama’s Prichoo area on Thursday.

Reports also add that one soldier of the Central Reserve Police force (CRPF) was also injured in the attack on the patrol party.

Incidentally, this happens to be the second attack on security forces in the Kashmir Valley in just two days.

In the first incident, two soldiers of the Border Security Force (BSF) were killed on Wednesday evening in Srinagar. It is reported that motorcycle-borne militants fired at the BSF jawans at a picket in Pandach area, on the outskirts of the city.

“After a group of terrorists attacked a BSF party at Srinagar’s Pandach, two troopers got injured. Later they succumbed to their injuries,” an official report released on Wednesday stated.

The officials said that both jawans - aged 35 and 36 - had sustained head injuries.

The attackers had also snatched weapons from the BSF jawans.

The website further adds that three newly recruited terrorists were arrested by security forces from Sogam area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district, as per police.

More details are awaited.
