Facebook Video row: Bhagwant Mann barred from entering Parliament

Synopsis

- AAP MP Bhagwant Mann had live streamed video from Parliament on Facebook - Video was later removed  - Parties alleged that such a video compromised security of Parliament

Following allegations of breach of security in Parliament, AAP MP Bhagwant Mann has been instructed not to attend the House.

Speaker of Lok Sabha Sumitra Mahajan today also announced setting up of a 9-member probe panel to look into the said “breach”.

Last week Punjab MP Mann had live streamed his entry into Parliament, crossing each security posts, on Facebook, creating a ruckus that such streaming has displayed security arrangements in a public domain.

The panel will submit its report by August 3. Until a decision has been taken after the panel submits its report, Mann will not attend house proceedings.

Following the controversy Mann had apologised for his act. Mann had earlier justified his actions saying that it was meant to tell people how the parliament operates on a day to day basis.

His 12-minute video was later blocked on Facebook.
