The recent killing of non-Muslims in Kashmir Valley has once again drawn attention to desperate attempts being made by Pakistan to try and destabilise Jammu & Kashmir and deny 'Naya Kashmir' at all cost, experts have observed.
In the last 15 days, nine Hindus and Sikhs have been killed. This also included a migrant labourer. However, a total of 28 civilians, including 19 Muslims were gunned down in the valley to date.
Citing Pakistan's frustration as the cause of such incidents, Major General Sudhakar Jee (Retd) told Asianet Newsable, "The progressive return of 3800 Kashmir Pandits, a gradual, albeit small, increase in tourist footfalls, resuming of economic and commercial activities besides steady corporate investment -- despite all-out efforts by Pakistan to counter the same is something that stares mockingly at its successive failures and attempts to deny normalcy to the Union Territory."

The security forces had on Tuesday gunned down the terrorist who had killed the migrant labourer from Bihar.
To guide and monitor the terrorist flush-out operations, experts have been camping in Srinagar since last week when Union Home Minister Amit Shah reviewed the prevailing security situation in the Valley in the wake of targeted killings.
Maj Gen Sudhakar Jee, who had served in the region three times during his stint in the Indian Army, said that the anti-terrorism operations demanded specific, accurate and timely human as well as technical intelligence.
CRPF and NIA DG Kuldeep Singh has also reached Srinagar to take stock of the situation amid the ongoing encounter between the security forces and the terrorists at Tilwani Mohalla Waggad in the Tral area of Awantipora.
As per the Jammu and Kashmir Police report, top JeM commander Sham Sofi was killed in the encounter.
This is the sixth encounter in a short span. Two days back, five Indian Army personnel were killed in an ambush in Poonch by Pakistani intruders.
The security forces have continued to step up counter-terror operations since civilian killings have taken place.
