NIA officer murder case: Two persons arrested

Synopsis

The Uttar Pradesh police today arrested two persons for their involvement in the murder of NIA official Tanzil Ahmed.

A senior police official at a press conference said domestic dispute was the reason behind the murder.

According to a statement the accused were following  Ahmed after the wedding reception was over on the night of 2 and 3 April.

The police have already arrested nephew of Ahmed's brother-in-law Rehan and his accomplice Zainul and now in a look out for the alleged mastermind Muneer. While chasing Ahmed’s car at Sahaspur village it was Munner who had fired at the NIA official.

The police have also announced a reward of Rs. 50,000 for anyone who would help with leads.

While Ahmed died on the spot, his wife was critically injured and his children escaped unhurt.

So far the investigations suggests that family and property dispute is the main reason for the fatal attack.
