National Recruitment Agency to conduct Common Eligibility Test for Railways, Bank, and SSC: Centre

New Delhi: The Cabinet on August 19 approved setting up a National Recruitment Agency to conduct Common Eligibility Test (CET) for Railways, Bank, and SSC. Union minister Prakash Javadekar in a press conference said that this step will benefit the job-seeking youth of the country.
Javadekar said that the scores of CET will be valid for three years. He added that the candidates can improve their score by appearing again and the best score will be considered.
Presently the National Recruitment Agency will conduct examinations for only three institutions. In future, examinations for all central institutions will be held. About 2.5 crore students will take part in these three institutions, according to reports.
For the Railways, banking and SSC, students will not have to take different exams.
Till now students could take up exams in two languages. However, students can now take up exams in 12 languages, the report added.
