Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday paid tributes to former Assembly Speaker Ishwardas Rohani on his birth anniversary, describing him as an ideal legislator and Speaker whose life and work continue to inspire public representatives. CM Yadav along with state assembly speaker Narendra Singh Tomar paid floral tributes before the potrait of Ishwardas Rohani in the state Legislative Assembly today.

CM Lauds New Tradition of Commemoration

Speaking to reporters on the occasion, the Chief Minister lauded Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar for initiating a tradition of commemorating the birth anniversaries of eminent personalities who made significant contributions as Assembly Speakers and Chief Ministers in the state. "Our Assembly Speaker, Narendra Singh Tomar, has started a tradition to celebrate the birth anniversaries of distinguished personalities who have contributed immensely in different fields, especially former Assembly Speakers and Chief Ministers. In the same episode, we came here on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the late Ishwardas Rohani," the CM said.

An Ideal Legislator and Speaker

Recalling Rohani's political journey, the Chief Minister said that he was first elected to the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 1993 and went on to win four consecutive elections from Jabalpur. He added that Rohani earned immense respect among the people of his constituency, particularly for his commitment to serving the poor and promoting development.

The CM further praised Rohani's conduct in the Assembly, saying he always spoke with honesty and clarity, irrespective of whether the issue concerned the ruling party or the opposition. "Whether it was the ruling side or the opposition, he always spoke the truth in the right manner, without any hesitation, and remained dedicated to his work. He was an ideal Assembly Speaker. We will always remember him for his contributions and continue to draw inspiration from his work," the CM said.

Tomar Recalls Working with Rohani

Meanwhile, assembly speaker Narendra Singh Tomar also paid tributes to former Assembly Speaker Ishwardas Rohani on his birth anniversary, saying it was his good fortune that he had an opportunity to work along with him in the state assembly as well as in the party. "He was known as an outstanding legislator in the Assembly. His tenure as the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly was undoubtedly historic and exemplary. At the same time, as a party office-bearer, he always expressed his views with great conviction. He lived his entire life by the principle of 'Nation First, Party Second.' Once a decision was taken, Ishwardas Rohani followed it with unwavering commitment," Tomar said.

He added that every public representative and party worker should learn from the discipline that defined his life and strive to follow his example. (ANI)
