
In a video uploaded to YouTube on the occasion of Independence Day, former BJP supporter Abhishek Mishra has said that union ministers have sent their exclusive interviews to 24 newspapers across the country - paying lakhs of rupees from public funds.
Among other allegations, he claimed that the Centre had paid ₹96,000 for Arun Jaitley’s interview in one of the leading English dailies on May 27. He stated that he got the information from a Right To Information petition.

He said, out of 24 newspapers, one was a Kannada newspaper - which published an article after it was paid ₹23,856.
Claiming that he was a 'former' BJP follower, Abhishek claimed that he stopped supporting the party after it came to power in 2014.
Currently, Abhishek runs a YouTube channel with 68,000 subscribers. He has uploaded many videos and is quite popular on social media platform, with his videos garnering several lakh views.
