
A day after resigning from the Trinamool Congress, Suvendu Adhikari has been given 'Z' category security by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
According to an order issued by MHA, “Security arrangement has been made for Suvendu Adhikari in consultation with Central Security Agencies. It has been decided to provide him 'Z' category CRPF security cover with the bulletproof vehicle in West Bengal.”

On Thursday (December 17), Suvendu Adhikari resigned from the TMC. It is being speculated that he will join the BJP when Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit West Bengal on December 19.
On November 26, Suvendu Adhikari resigned from the post of the chairman of Hooghly River Bridge Commissioners. On Wednesday (December 16), he submitted his resignation as MLA of Nandigram constituency in Purba Medinipur district.

Of late, he had criticised the TMC leadership, on several occasions, for its style of functioning.
Meanwhile, many TMC leaders have resigned from the party in the last two days.
