Man beats wife, 1-year-old daughter to death in argument over extramarital affair

A shocking incident took place in Hariharpara of Murshidabad. Due to an extramarital affair, a husband beat his wife and daughter to death. The accused is absconding. Police have arrested the accused’s father.  

Kolkata: In an argument over his extramarital affair, a man beat his wife and daughter to death. The shocking incident took place in Hariharpara of Murshidabad. The accused is absconding.

The name of the deceased housewife is Pinky Bibi. She was a resident in Chhatimtala village in Hariharpara Police Station limits. Her husband, Milan Sheikh is a farmer by profession. The couple's only daughter Rani is one year old.

According to sources, Pinky and Milan married a few years ago. Pinky lived happily with her husband, until about a month ago, when he allegedly got involved with a woman in a nearby village. He even married his girlfriend without divorcing his first wife. A huge tiff erupted between the couple due to this reason.

Neighbours complained that whenever Milan came to the house, he would brutally beat his wife. Pinky’s mother-in-law and sister-in-law would allegedly torture her a lot whenever she protested. On Thursday (September 3) afternoon, Milan beat his wife and child to death. Not only that, to dispel the suspicion, he placed electric wires on the two bodies.

The family of the deceased lodged a complaint against the three including their Milan. The main accused Milan is absconding. Police have arrested his father.
