
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday (December 23) had a conversation with the farmers who are protesting in Delhi against the Centre’s newly passed agriculture bill.
She assured the farmers that her party will support them in their movement.

A five-member delegation of TMC MPs, comprising Derek O''Brien, Satabdi Roy, Prasun Banerjee, Pratima Mondal, and Md Nadimul Haque, also met the farmers and supported their protest against the new farm laws.
Thousands of farmers from Punjab and Haryana are protesting against the Centre’s newly passed agriculture bill. They are protesting for over four weeks at various border points of Delhi and demanding that the laws be repealed.

The farmers were on a hunger strike on Monday (December 21). Over a phone call, the farmers requested Mamata Banerjee to join the protest in order to give them more courage and strength.
Earlier this month, the TMC had sent a delegation at the farmer’s protest and Mamata Banerjee had also interacted with the agitating farmers.
