
In Howrah district of West Bengal, a 12-year-old boy allegedly murdered his friend after a dispute over a cricket match bet of ₹250, the local police said. The body of the deceased was found on April 22, and the police have arrested by the accused.
Both the 12-year-old boys were residents of Daspara and reportedly placed a bet of ₹250 on the result of a cricket match. The victim won the bet but the accused denied paying him the bet money that led to the fight.
Then the victim’s father claimed that the accused asked his son to meet at a garden where the victim was beaten up mercilessly, and his head was smashed with a brick. The victim then fainted, and the accused throttled him to death.
According to IANS report, the accused 12-year-old also tried to disfigure the body of the victim and dragged the body to a jungle located nearby where he used shrubs and bricks to cover the dead body.
The Liluah police have detained the accused and his friend, and during interrogation one of the boys broke down and confessed to the crime.
