According to the warning, there is a possibility of cyclone formation as the low pressure in the Arabian Sea has transformed into extreme low pressure. The Indian Navy has beefed up security on the coast of Vizhinjam. Two warships of the Indian Navy reached the coast of Vizhinjam to protect the Chinese ship. "Yesterday’s Low Pressure Area over Southeast & adjoining southwest Arabian Sea moved nearly westward, became a well marked low pressure area over southwest Arabian Sea in the midnight (2330 hours IST). It concentrated into a depression and lay centered at 0830 hours IST of today, the 20th October over southwest Arabian Sea near latitude 9.3°N and longitude 61.7°E about 920 km east-southeast of Socotra (Yemen), 1190 km southeast of Salalah Airport (Oman) and 1280 km east-southeast of Al Ghaidah (Yemen)."
"It is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a cyclonic storm over southwest Arabian Sea during next 24 hours. Continuing to move west-northwestwards, it is likely to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm on the evening of 22nd October. Thereafter, it would move north-northwestwards from 24th morning towards south Oman and adjoining Yemen coasts."

9:10 AM: Man dies after two wheeler falls into river in Kochi
A young man lost his life when his two-wheeler plunged into a river on Thursday (Oct 20). The deceased has been identified as Kelvin Antony, a native of Puthuvype, Kochi. As per police reports, it is suspected that he may have lost his way, leading to the accident.
