Bengaluru: The Karnataka legislature is set for a stormy Monsoon Session starting Monday as the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress are ready for showdown on several issues amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The 9-day session of the Assembly and Legislative Council is being held in the Vidhana Soudha from September 21-30.

The sessions have begun on Monday with the speaker paying condolences to political leaders of various parties from across the country who have succumbed to COVID-19 this year.

Earlier today, Chief Minister of Karnataka BS Yediyurappa addressed the media before the session began.

The CM stated that the session may be cut down to 3 days from 9 days, as there are very few members attending the session due to COVID-19.

The ruling party is trying to cut down the number of days, to cover-up their mistakes, we have more than a thousand questions to be asked today and the sessions will go on no matter what”.
