Bidar: The overnight heavy rains on Tuesday and Wednesday (September 15,16) in and around Bidar has led to excess waterlogging in the streets of Basavakalyana taluk in Bidar district.
Based on what the residents told Asianet Kannada, the waterlogging and flood like situation has been the plight of the taluk every year.
Residents of the Basavakalyana taluk claim that every year during the rainy season they are forced to move to safer areas along with their children as the overflowing water from the streets enters their houses.
The residents claim that none of the district administration officers or the elected representatives have responded to their complaints since the last two days.

It is reported that the MLA of the taluk, B Narayan Rao has been admitted in a private hospital in Bengaluru after testing positive for COVID-19, which is why he has not been able to take any action.
The residents are still stuck in the waterlogged areas and are demanding for help.
Meanwhile other districts and cities in the region including Kalaburagi city, Chittapur, Kalagi, Wadi, Afzalpur and Kamalapur, experienced spells of heavy rain through the day on Wednesday.
