Karnataka: Former CM Sadananda Gowda tests positive for COVID-19

Former Chief Minister of Karnataka and Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers DV Sadananda Gowda has tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.


Bengaluru: After several ministers, former Chief Minister of Karnataka and Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers DV Sadananda Gowda too has tested positive for COVID-19.

In a tweet, the MP representing Bangalore North wrote, "After initial symptoms of COVID19, I got myself tested and the report came positive. I have isolated myself. I request everyone who has come in my contact to be careful and follow the protocol. Stay safe."

The former chief minister of Karnataka has isolated himself and has asked everyone who has encounter him to follow the protocol.

Sadananda Gowda joins the list of central government ministers such as Home Minister Amit Shah, Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan who had earlier tested positive for COVID-19.

Following Gowda’s announcement, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and state cooperative minister ST Somashekar prayed for his early recovery and wished he would return to his duties soon.
