The deputy chief minister reportedly got himself tested ahead of the monsoon session of the legislature.

Announcing the news on his Twitter handle, the deputy CM wrote “In anticipation of the upcoming Assembly sessions, I underwent a #COVID19 test on Saturday and my results have returned positive. I am asymptomatic and will be under home isolation. I request those who have come in contact with me to take the necessary precautions”.
Earlier this week, Home minister Basavaraj Bommai and Food & Civil Supplies minister K Gopalaiah had also tested positive for Covid-19.
While Bommai is under home isolation, Gopalaiah said he was undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Meanwhile, Karnataka Assembly Speaker Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri along with other political leaders underwent a COVID-19 test on September 18 ahead of the upcoming monsoon session of the Assembly.
