Karnataka by-election: Byrathi Basavaraj casts vote in KR Puram, confident of BJP victory

Synopsis

Setting an example, KR Puram MLA candidate Byrathi Basavaraj along with wife were early to cast their vote. The couple after offering prayers at a nearby temple at ByrathI Grama reached Medahalli Government Primary School.  


KP Puram's brand and ultra-rich politician Byrathi Basavaraj and his wife Padmavathi has sent a message to KR Puram voters to come out and cast their votes. The couple came to Medahalli as early as 7:30am and exercised their franchise.

Talking to a reporter after casting his vote, Basavaraj said he was happy that he was contesting for the first time from the BJP and expressed confidence that the BJP will win.

He had earlier said that he joined BJP for development. Byrathi was the close confidante of former CM Siddaramaiah.

Byrathi along with other MLAs like ST Somashekar from Yeshwanthpur Assembly, Munirathna Naidu from RR Nagar were instrumental in forming the BBMP council where Congress enjoyed power and bagged the mayor post for four years. With all these MLA's defecting, the Congress vote bank in Bengaluru has taken a beating.
