Next time when you get waitlisted on Rajdhani Express, IRCTC will make sure that you board an Air India flight instead to your destination for the same price within 24 hours.
According to the Air India Chairman and MD Ashwani Lohani, they are able to provide this offer to the passengers after striking an agreement with IRCTC. "Any passenger, who could not get a confirmed ticket, will be given the option of booking an Air India flight within twenty-four hours. The fares will be AC first fares for AC first class passengers and AC II passengers will be charged AC II fares plus ₹1,500," he told the Economic Times.
Only wait-listed passengers of first and second AC class will be able to avail this facility starting from next week. Also, only if the airline has a flight on the same route.
Hopefully, this move will help Air India fill up more seats on its planes.
