India once again broke its Covid-19 immunisation record on Tuesday. The tally of 1.09 crore shots was recorded just days after the country achieved one crore immunisations in one day.
Taking to Twitter, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that country had reached a new milestone. He stated that India had broken previous record of administering over 1.09 cr doses of vaccine.

"Today more than the previous number of highest doses have been administered & number is continuously rising," he added.

With this, India has also attained the highest-ever total of 18 crore doses provided in the month of August, a roughly 33 percent increase over July's 13.45 crore doses. As of August 31, India has reached 50 crore initial doses and 15 crore second doses, for a total of 65 crore vaccines. 50,12,44,655 of the total 65,03,29,061 doses delivered so far were first doses, whereas 14,90,84,406 were second doses.
13.34 crore persons in the 60+ age group have been vaccinated, while 19.76 crore in the 45-60 age range have been vaccinated. So far, 31.57 crore people between the ages of 18 and 44 have been vaccinated.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare announced that 65 crore Covid-19 vaccination doses have already been delivered throughout the country. On Friday, India surpassed the one-crore milestone, recording its highest-ever daily immunisation total. The total number of dosages was 1,00,64,032. Uttar Pradesh set the standard by immunising nearly 29 lakh people in a single day. Several senior officials, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, praised it as a significant achievement. Soumya Swaminathan, chief scientist of the World Health Organization, praised India's efforts to combat the epidemic.
