Thiruvananthapuram: CPI(M) members Alan Shuhaib and Thaha Fasal, who were arrested by the Kerala Police under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) for having links with Maoists, have harshly criticised Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
The duo has said to media that if they are Maoists, then let Pinarayi Vijayan prove it. The duo made the statement when the National Investigation Agency produced them in court.
Alan Shuhaib and Thaha Fasal added that if Pinarayi Vijayan can prove that they are Maoists, then let him also mention various other crimes the duo had committed.
They added that they are the most loyal to the party. The two said that they have gone to stick posters during the election and engaged in many such tasks for the party.
The National Investigation Agency court that remanded Alan and Thaha till February 14 will consider their custody plea on January 17.
Pinarayi Vijayan's comments:
Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan had earlier said that his government did not agree with the police’s decision of arresting two CPI(M) members under UAPA.
But days ago, Vijayan had changed his statement and said that the duo has links with the Maoists.
