Honey trap case: Another politician’s name surfaces during interrogation; victim fears lodging complaint

Yet another politician’s name surfaced in the honey trap case that has shook the entire state. CCB officials found another politician who had fallen victim to the trap, but the victim refused to lodge a complaint. 

Bengaluru: The recent honey trap case that shocked many people has reared its ugly head yet again. CCB officials who are probing the case have found another politician who has become victim of honey trap.

According to sources, CCB officials have contacted the politician to lodge a complaint against the prime accused, Raghavendra alias Raghu.

The CCB has arrested a gang of eight people, including two women, who were honey trapping and blackmailing Karnataka politicians and businessmen by recording videos of their private moments with women.

The gang was arrested by police after a video of a North Karnataka politician began doing the rounds. According to the CCB sources, police have arrested the kingpin of the gang, Raghavendra alias Raghu, who was involved in blackmailing bigwigs and extorting crores of rupees from various individuals in the last year by threatening to leak their videos.
 
However, these politicians haven’t lodged any complaint with police as they fear the case will tarnish their image and reputation. It is learnt that the names of the ones who have filed a complaint have been kept confidential.

Reportedly, after probing the accused and his gang, the police have learnt that another politician has fallen victim to honey trap. However, the politician has requested police not to reveal his name and hasn’t lodged any complaint.

A CCB official stated that all information they have received till date in relation to the case has been kept confidential.

CCB police have produced kingpin Raghavendra in front of the magistrate even before his police custody ends.

Members of the gang would target high profile persons, politicians with sexual favours and secretly recorded their intimate moments and then blackmail them for money.

The kingpin Raghvendra would meet his targets at five-star hotel rooms which were bugged with cameras. The accused then recorded the private moments of the targets with the women.
