Harry Potter, The Hobbit, Tintin to be part of ICSE syllabus

Synopsis

Students of standard III to VIII will get to read graphic novels. Syllabus will includes autobiographies of Anne Frank, Malala Yousafzai and APJ Abdul Kalam.

It seems someone has finally turned on the light in India's school education system. 

 

English literature classes in ICSE school will not remain boring, pre-historic, and mundane anymore since Harry Potter, Agatha Christie's novels, The Hobbit and Feluda will be the part of the course. 

 

According to an Economic Times report, the Council for ISCE has prescribed some of the most popular contemporary work of literature for junior and middle school students on the syllabus for 2017-18 session. 

 

As per the new syllabus, students of standard III to VIII will get to read graphic novels of Tintin, Asterix, the Holocaust saga 'Maus' among other books. 

 

Syllabus of classes from III to VIII will include graphic novels of Asterix, Tintin, American cartoonist Art Spiegel man's Holocaust saga 'Maus' among other books. The new syllabus also includes autobiographies of Anne Frank, Malala Yousafzai and APJ Abdul Kalam.
