3 Pakistani Commandos Killed In Twin Suicide Bombings At Paramilitary Force HQ; Explosions Heard (WATCH)

A suicide bombing killed three Pakistani paramilitary personnel at the border force headquarters in Peshawar city on Monday, police told. 

Gunmen attacked a paramilitary force headquarters in Pakistan's northwestern city of Peshawar on Monday, police said. The complex, the headquarters of the frontier constabulary paramilitary force, was also hit by two suicide bombers, sources told Reuters, adding that three people had been killed.

Soon after the attack, several videos surfaced on social media, claiming that blasts were heard at FC Chowk Main sadar.

"Three FC (Federal Constabulary) personnel deployed at the gate were martyred and four others were wounded," said Peshawar police chief Mian Saeed, adding one assailant detonated explosives and two other attackers were shot dead by the security forces.

"The first suicide bomber first carried out an attack on the main entrance of the constabulary and the other one entered the compound," the Reuters quoted a senior official saying.

"Law enforcement personnel, including the army and police, have cordoned off the area and are carefully handling the situation as we suspect there are some terrorists inside the headquarters,” the official added.

“The FC headquarters is under attack: we are responding and the area is being cordoned off,” Pakistani news outlet Dawn quoted police officer Mian Saeed Ahmad saying.

“Several explosions have taken place in the area,” the official said, adding that “the area is being cordoned off.”

Earlier this year, at least ten people died and several were injured after a powerful car bomb detonated outside the paramilitary headquarters in Quetta.

On September 3, a suicide attack at a political rally in Quetta killed 11 people and injured more than 40, striking a stadium parking area where hundreds of Balochistan National Party supporters had assembled.
