The senior Congress leader made the announcement on his Twitter handle on September 28.
HK Patil has mentioned in his tweet that he is doing fine and is asymptomatic.
Stating that he would soon be alright with the blessings of his well-wishers, the senior leader has requested all those who encountered him to get themselves tested and self-quarantine.

— HK Patil (@HKPatil1953)On Sunday, Congress leader and former Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, Dinesh Gundu Rao also tested positive for COVID-19.
The former KPCC president had also requested all his primary contacts to get tested and take all precautionary methods.

Earlier KPCC president DK Shivakumar, chief minister of Karnataka Yediyurappa and a few other ministers, including another deputy chief minister CN Ashwath Narayan, home minister Basavaraj Bommai, forest minister Anand Singh, tourism minister CT Ravi and agriculture minister BC Patil, had tested positive for coronavirus and have recovered.
