Forensic report states Karnataka BJP MLA Arvind Limbalavi's alleged sex tape is fake

Synopsis

The report from the forensic department has clarified that "with on frame analysis it was found that the video file is not genuine". The alleged sex video involving Arvind Limbavali was released in July this year, just at a time when there were speculations that the BJP leader was likely to be made the president of the party in Karnataka.

Bengaluru: The alleged sex tape of Karnataka BJP MLA Arvind Limbavali is forged, fake, states forensic department report.

After conducting a scientific lab test, the forensic report claims: "With on frame analysis it was found that the video file is not genuine. Further, no opinion  is expressed with regard to obscenity in the video since scientifically it is not defined. Since the video file is not genuine, authentication of individuals present in the video is not expressed. "

Reacting to the same, Tejaswini Gowda, BJP spokesperson said, "The authenticated agency has proved and revealed that the video is fake. These are serious allegations and one should not be punished before the verdict is out. It’s very unfortunate that such a fake video was created to malign a political leader. I want to say that this controversy led to Arvind Limbavali missing an elevation in his political career."

The alleged sex video involving Arvind Limbavali was released in July this year, just at a time when there were speculations that the BJP leader was likely to be made the president of the party in Karnataka.

BJP leader Tejaswini Gowda claimed that the video was released to malign Limbavali whose power in the party was growing.

Limbavali rose through the ranks of the party especially when he brought current chief minister of Karnataka, Yediyurappa back to BJP, after the latter had quit the party and founded Karnataka Janata Paksha (KJP). But BJP came to power in Karnataka with the help of Yediyurappa who is known to be a mass leader representing the huge number of voters belonging to the Lingayat community.

Limbavali is credited with bringing BJP back to power as he convinced Yediyurappa to return to the BJP.

However sources within the party say that some within the BJP were not happy as national leaders began turning to Limbavali to discuss several state issues.

Limbavali is also credited with leading Operation Kamala that helped to bring BJP storm back to power. When Yediyurappa tried to win over Lingayat leaders from opposition parties, Limbavali tried to woo the Hinda (Backward classes) leaders from other parties. Thus, Limbavali was being projected as the leader of backward classes and Dalit MLAs.

The responsibility of campaigning for the BJP in the 15 Assembly constituencies during the recent by-election was given to Limbavali. As BJP has won 12 seats out of 15 in the recently concluded bypolls, Limbavali's contribution to this victory is considered vital.

It remains to be seen if this report will manage to clear the hurdle (the alleged sex tape) that stood in the way of Limbavali's growth in the BJP.
