Watch: 193 escape unhurt after Delhi residents spot fire on Bengaluru-bound flight

Synopsis

A suspected fire on reported on a GoAir Bengaluru bound flight. Reports claim that a major disaster was averted after Delhi residents informed the police. GoAir but has said the plane made emergency landing because of a technical glitch.

 

According to the report in Hindustan Times, two residents of Delhi’s Najafgarh spotted the suspected fire and informed the police, who then alerted the CISF.


Subsequently, the captain of GoAir flight G8557 was alerted, who then made an emergency landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport


The HT report, however, quoting GoAir said that the airline has denied that it was fire. The budget airline said the aircraft made an emergency landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport due to a technical glitch.

 

There were 193 people on board the aircraft.
